How are Squad leaderboard scores calculated?

Squad leaderboard scores are based on eligible check-ins and Quest submissions during the eight-week Challenge. Each eligible check-in earns 1 point. Credited check-ins must be at least four hours apart, and no more than five count in each Monday through Sunday week. Each eligible Quest submission earns 2 points. There are no fitness-trial bonus points.

The four-hour spacing helps members who train across time zones or late one night and early the next morning. Two check-ins at least four hours apart can both earn credit, even when they are posted on the same calendar day. From Sunday at noon Eastern, a check-in posted after the current week's five credits are filled can count toward the following week instead of being discarded.

For each Challenge day, we divide the Squad points earned that day by the number of Active members who count for that Squad. We add those daily per-member results together to create the Squad's running score. A day with no Active members contributes zero. Squad leads and their activity are excluded from the calculation. Every placed member is scored from the Challenge start date, no matter when they were placed in a Squad.

Because the Squad score is calculated one day at a time, a member can have at most one credited check-in on each scoring day. If more than one eligible check-in is posted on the same day, the first counts that day and each additional check-in moves forward to the next day on which that member does not already have a credited check-in. If no scoring day remains before the leaderboard closes, any additional check-in does not add to the Squad score.

A member's Active window is measured from the Challenge start date, not from the day they were placed in a Squad. After seven full consecutive days without an eligible check-in or Squad-scoring Quest submission, a member becomes Excluded the following day and stops counting in the daily calculation. If they participate again, they automatically become Active again that day. A member placed more than seven days into the Challenge who has not yet checked in is therefore Excluded on arrival, and placing them does not change their Squad's Active member count; their first check-in makes them Active that day.

When a member transfers Squads, the member and all their Challenge progress transfer with them. Their previous and future check-ins, Quest points, and daily participation are recalculated as part of the new Squad. Their former Squad is evaluated without them.

Quest deadlines still determine individual points and prize eligibility. A Quest submitted after its individual deadline can still add 2 points to the Squad leaderboard if it is submitted before the leaderboard closes.

The 2026 Dragon Rider Squad leaderboard closes on October 4 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. Check-ins completed during the separate two-week Iron Squad grace period can still count toward Iron Squad eligibility, but they do not change the final leaderboard.

Scores are calculated at full precision and rounded only for display.
