Do I have to join a Squad for the Dragon Rider Challenge?

No. Joining a Squad is optional. You can participate in the Dragon Rider Challenge without joining one and remain eligible for individual prizes. Squad-specific awards, such as the Champions and Iron Squad patches, require participation in a Squad.

The Dragon Rider Challenge does not use a separate Guild or Section system. Guilds were part of the earlier Trial of the Guilds; this Challenge uses optional accountability Squads.

Squad signups for the 2026 Challenge close August 25. We may still accommodate a few late signups when possible, but placement after that date is not guaranteed.
